Repairs not being done? Bond dispute or leaving early?
A personalised report that answers your questions.

This is not a generic guide. Every answer you give changes what your personalised report says, so you get answers to your own questions, your exact position, your next steps in order, and a suggested email to your rental provider or agent, written around your answers for you to finish and send. This tool is currently only for Victoria or NSW. Support for other states is being worked on.

How your report is made

Made for your questions and your situation, not for everyone

Two renters with different answers get two different personalised reports, each answering their own questions.

1

A lawyer has written and checked every section

Each section is written for your state by a lawyer and checked before you ever arrive.

2

Your answers choose what applies to you

What you tell us picks the sections that fit your situation and leaves out the ones that do not.

3

Your details go in on your own device

Your name, address, dates, and amounts are filled in inside your browser, so the report reads as yours and they never reach us.

What's inside

What you actually get for $88

Two things: a suggested email you can send today, and your own report behind it. Both are built from the answers you give, not a general summary.

Subject: Bond claim: 12 Example Street, Brunswick
Dear Northside Property,
I am writing about the cleaning claim of $1,200 made against my bond for the property at 12 Example Street, Brunswick, which I dispute.
Withheld: the cleaning standard you can be held to
Withheld: when professional cleaning can't be required
My position: [set out briefly why the cleaning claim is not justified: for example, the property was left clean at the end of the tenancy].
Withheld: the evidence you hold, and how to put it
Withheld: the documents you're entitled to demand
Please respond in writing within 14 days. If we cannot resolve this, I intend to take the matter to Rental Dispute Resolution Victoria and, if necessary, to VCAT for a determination.
Kind regards, Sam Rivera

The withheld sections are the part that takes the work: what the law lets you hold the claim to, and the specific documents you are entitled to ask for. Which ones appear depends on your answers and your state. It is your email, from your own inbox — we never send anything on your behalf, and it never refers to your document.

And the report behind it

Where you stand

What the law says about the claim against your bond, matched to your answers, not a general summary.

Your next steps, in order

What to do first, what to do if they say no, and where it goes from there — VCAT in Victoria, NCAT in New South Wales.

The evidence to gather

Which documents matter for your situation, which you already have, and which to ask for.

Why not just read a free guide, or ask an AI?

The two free options leave you guessing. This does not.

Free guides and free tools

Tenants Victoria and Tenants NSW offer free guides, a free letter-writing tool, and free legal advice for eligible renters, and they are worth using. This sets out where you stand on the facts you enter, in a document a lawyer has already checked, matched to your exact state.

Asking an AI: free or paid

Victoria and New South Wales have separate Acts, and the same section number can mean different things in each. An AI assistant will answer anyway, sound just as confident either way, and nobody has checked what it told you.

QuickHelpLegal: Renting ($88)

We ask your state first. Every section was written for that state by a lawyer and checked before you arrived, then chosen by your answers, so what you download is your own report and not a general one. Your next steps and a suggested email to your rental provider or agent, for a fixed fee, with nothing further to pay us.

How it works

From a few questions to a clear answer and a way forward, in under ten minutes.

01

Get your personalised report, and the email

Download a personalised report that answers your questions and sets out where you stand and exactly what to do next. It's ready to use yourself with RDRV or VCAT in Victoria, or NCAT in New South Wales, with a suggested email to your rental provider or agent inside it, for you to send. $88, one time.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The questions people ask before they start.

What do I actually get?

Two things. A personalised PDF report, written by a lawyer and generated in your own browser, that answers your questions, explains where you stand in your bond or repair dispute and exactly what to do next. This includes which evidence to gather and how to raise it with your landlord, agent, or tribunal (RDRV or VCAT in Victoria, NCAT in NSW). And inside it, a suggested email to your rental provider or agent, written around the answers you gave, ready for you to send. What you get is that one report: we do not represent you at RDRV, VCAT, or NCAT, deal with your rental provider or agent, or act for you in the dispute itself. Your report is selected by your answers alone, so who you are cannot change what it says, and no conflict of interest can arise on this service. If you want a lawyer to look at your own situation with you, that is a Situation Review: separate work, separately booked, with a full conflict check first. Our Terms of Use set out the full scope.

What if I want a lawyer to look at my own situation?

Most people do not need this: a report is complete in itself, and for a standard dispute it is all anyone needs. But if your matter has something unusual in it, you can book a Situation Review: 45 minutes by video with the lawyer who wrote your report, who reads your documents beforehand and gives you legal advice on your own matter, followed by a short written summary. It is a separate service at a separate fixed fee, available once you have your report, and your card is not charged until the summary is delivered. See the Situation Review page for what it covers and what it does not.

What's the email you write for me?

Your report includes a suggested email to your rental provider or agent, written around the answers you gave. It sets out that you dispute the claim, states the evidence you told us you hold, and asks them for what is missing. The parts only you can write (your own account of what happened) are marked in brackets for you to fill in. It is your email, sent from your own inbox: we never send anything on your behalf, and the email never refers to or attaches your report.

How much does it cost?

$88, one time. There is no subscription and no account. You can go all the way through the questionnaire and see your report's full structure (every section heading, page count, and an opening excerpt) before you are asked to pay anything. The full text of each section unlocks once you pay.

Can this decide who is right, or whether something is broken or unclean?

No. QuickHelpLegal: Renting explains your rights and where you stand under the law. It does not, and cannot, decide the facts of your dispute. It cannot judge whether your property was left cleaner than when you moved in, whether an item is genuinely damaged or faulty, or whether a repair was truly needed. It takes what you tell it as given and, on that basis, sets out the law that applies and the position you are in. Establishing the facts (and the evidence for them) is your part. The document shows you which evidence matters and how to use it. See our Terms of Use for the full detail.

Is my information private?

Yes. Your name, address, contact details, amounts, and the dates you enter are processed entirely in your browser and never reach us, and your report is assembled on your device. See our Privacy Policy for exactly what we do and don't collect.

What if I need a refund?

Because your report is delivered immediately, we don't offer change-of-mind refunds. Your purchase is still covered by the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law, so if something is wrong, email contact@quickhelplegal.com.au and we'll sort it out. See refunds in our Terms of Use.

Which states are covered?

Victoria and New South Wales. We're working on covering more states. For now, anything outside VIC or NSW is routed straight to free tenant advocacy services instead of a generated document.

How long does it take?

Most people finish the questionnaire in under ten minutes, and your report is generated instantly straight afterward: no waiting on a person or a queue.

Can I go back and change an answer?

Yes. Before you reach the details form, you’ll see a "Review your answers" screen listing everything you told us, with an Edit link on each item that takes you straight back to that question. Change an earlier answer and anything you answered after it gets asked again, so your report only ever reflects your actual situation.

Can I re-download my report?

Not once you leave the page, so email it to yourself as soon as it arrives and you will always have a copy. The reason is the same reason your details are safe: we never hold your personal information or your finished report, so there is nothing on our side to look up, re-send, or regenerate. While you’re still on the results page there’s a "Download again" link in case you missed it the first time, but that only works there and then. Once you navigate away, the only way to get another copy is to run the questionnaire again from the start.
